Global economic activity has broadly been modest and divergent across major regional blocks with growth rebound in some advanced economies. However, emerging market economies and especially commodity-exporting countries have come under strain on the back of reduced capital flows and declining commodity prices. This has resulted in sharp currency depreciations in most of these countries, thereby weakening their prospects for growth. Read more
